Experience Relaxation

Oral conscious sedation utilizes oral sedative medication to significantly reduce your fears and discomfort. Oral conscious sedation does not require needles to administer and is not as costly as IV sedation. Many people choose to get all their dental work done in one visit. General anesthesia renders patients completely unconscious, but oral conscious sedation leaves the patient able to speak and breathe on their own. You will experience a heightened state of relaxation and probably will not remember much about the procedure afterwards. Your appointment will be a dream and hours in the chair will feel like minutes.

How Does It Work?

Oral conscious sedation will put you at ease; however, Dr. Davis will also administer a local anesthetic to ensure that you do not experience pain. By the time the anesthetic is administered, you will be so relaxed that you will hardly notice.

After your comprehensive exam, you will be scheduled for a consultation. At your consultation, Dr. Davis will discuss your treatment plan as well as determine if sedation would be of benefit to you. If sedation is indicated, detailed instructions will be given. If you choose to undergo oral conscious sedation, someone will be required to bring you to your appointment, drive you home, and stay with you until the sedation has cleared your system.

Sedation has made it possible for people with even the most extreme dental anxiety to experience relaxation during treatment. With options like oral conscious sedation, Dental fear does not have to keep you from your treatment any longer. Feel free to call us at (817) 656-9366 to discuss any questions you may have.
